Asian Pork Ribs
Ribs are always a fun dish to cook and eat. They are a real crowd pleaser. There are a number of styles and ways to prepare them. In this recipe I am doing Asian style. A few of these ingredients you may not have in your pantry but it’s worth picking them up when you are at your local Asian supermarket.
1.5-2kg pork ribs
3tspn grated ginger
a little sesame oil
2tlbspn Kecap Manis
2tlbspn dark soy sauce
1tlbspn lemon juice
3tlbspn Sriracha sauce
2tlbspn honey
3tlbspn Hoisin sauce
1tlbspn Chinkiang vinegar
Preheated oven 160 0c
Combine all the marinade ingredients together in a large bowl, add the ribs and mix well to coat. If possible set aside for a few hours.
Reserve any remaining marinade.
Place the ribs in a large baking tray on one level, pour in a little hot water and cover tightly with foil.
Bake for 90 minutes.
Remove foil and brush with extra marinade. Turn the ribs and and brush the other side with the marinade.
Bake uncovered for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and re-brush on both sides. Bake a further 20 minutes or until the meat is almost falling off the bone.
